January and February

As per usual I can't make it to my computer before 2 months have passed.

But firstly I am very proud of myself. In January I finally finished reading Brida and Minu(My) Alaska. I would recommend both books. Minu Alaska is in Estonian and a lovely fun and easy read. It is so nice to read other people's experiences living abroad and the stories of how they found their way back to Estonia or how they didn't. On the other hand, Brida is the first Paulo Coelho book I have read and even though it took me a while to read it, I really liked the book. I think it might be time I read the Alcemist.

But I'm afraid that won't happen anytime soon. In February I read the first 2 Harry Potter books and also watched the movies. I finally understand the movies fully. There is so much more happening in the books and of course so many more things are explained. It seems like I am a little too slow to notice the small details without reading the books. For the next few months I will most likely be on the Harry Potter wave. The only other thing I am reading right now is Icelandic short stories.

When it comes to work and school it is all the same. My school is still happening online, but they are giving us hope that it might go back to being in person. Like for any student, School makes me stress, but no assignment has killed me. More like my own fears hold me back. Either I am afraid to make mistakes or that my accent sounds funny, But I have nowhere to hide now. I can understand and also express myself. Time to suck it up. How freely I speaks Icelandic is going to give me sooooo many plus points when I will apply to jobs. There are more and more work opportunities available, so fingers crossed that I will find something suitable soon.

I keep looking for things to do around the house. Partly to avoid schoolwork and also to just give my self some fun activities. So I have organised my closet again, then the laundry room, linens closet office and also helped Björgvin's mum organise her closet. It might be becoming an obsession. Sometimes I walk past a closet and if it doesn't look that nice then I go and help. And a few hours later I am still in the that closet trying to make it prettier. whilst organising we also found a wooden cabinet that noone wanted, so I wanted it and made it look cute. Some sanding and polish and we have a lovely wooden cabinet under our vinyl player. I missed just doing little projects.

during Estonia's independence day Iceland decided to shake things up a bit. Literally. All day there were earthquakes all over Iceland. There were three big ones and the strongest was 5,7 magnitudes. Somehow I felt nothing.

In April I would love to go home, I have really bad home sickness. I want o hug my friends and family and talk to them face to face. I am not an internet person. I even deleted social media off my phone. I was spending too much time online.

I hope I will write a new post soon, til then all the best!
